Gender Equality - Progressing Female Talent
In 2019 Vicky won the inaugural “Inspirational Women of the year” award at BNP Paribas due to her commitment to driving the agenda to gain equality for women in the workplace.
Vicky created a strategy to support women in the workplace both to increase the number of women progressing into Senior Leadership roles and achieve equal pay. The business signed the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter and committed to have 50% women at Executive level by 2030. Organisations are currently 28% in the UK, and we were 33% in 2019.
Vicky established a committee engaging women at different levels. The committee focused on understand what was holding them back and what support they needed. the CEO become sponsor to support the initiative.
Vicky supported with the evaluation and actions for the annual gender pay gap. She ensured the annual people review identified a balance of men and women to feed a talent and succession pipeline.
Vicky designed and delivered a bespoke programme focused on elements women said they needed for example improving self-awareness, confidence, opportunity to raise their profile, and exposure and develop their personal development plans.
Vicky co-ordinated mentor, and coaching support to run alongside their manager’s support. Vicky found that those who were actively engaged with the programme progressed internally and were retained. They gained higher performance ratings and thus pay increases and bonus payments.
Productivity and impact were higher for the women who attended the development.
